Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Coast
A chopper flying above a crowded coastal shoreline suddenly commenced twirling out of control, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos uploaded on social media capture the chopper commencing to spiral over the shoreline then falling in the direction of the border of the shore, where it ends up lodged among palms and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were injured. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
